Lady Falcons to the District Championship

Tazewell- Lady Falcons took a trip down to Claiborne Co. for the District Tournament semi-final against Grainger Lady Grizzlies (4-4) for a trip to the District Championship. Lady Falcons won the tip-off at the start of the game. Jacie Begley and Veda Barton started off hot with all the 1st quarter points (13), Jacie having all her 9 from the 3-point line. Showing up on the defensive side was Ava Jackson with 2 blocks, Anna Houck with 2 steals, and Veda Barton with a block. Lady-Falcons led at the end of the 1st quarter 13-10.

In the 2nd quarter Lady Falcons shot 3/5 from the Free Throw Line. Jacie Begley had 7 points, gaining an and one, and shooting 2/3 from the line. Anna Houck with 5 points, and Ava Jackson with 3, shooting ½ from the line. Defensively, we had 2 steals, both from Jacie Begley and Ava Jackson with a block. Lady-Falcons leading at halftime 28-20.

Veda Barton had 5 points, 3 coming from converting an and one. Jacie Begley with 4 points Anna Houck with 3, and Ava Jackson with a Free Throw. Leading against the Lady-Grizzlies 41-31.

Lastly in the 4th quarter, Veda Barton with 2 points and a block, Emma Houck with 4 points and a steal. Jacie Begley with 2 points from an and one, Emily Mailloux with 2 points and a steal, and Courtney Bellamy with 2 steals. Volunteer Lady Falcons head back to Claiborne Co. Monday, February 19th, 2024, against Greeneville Lady Devils (7-1) in the District Championship, winning 51-33 tonight against Grainger Lady Grizzlies, who goes onto play Claiborne Co. for 3rd in the District Tournament.
