Volleyball Game 20 article by VSN

Church Hill, TN- After another dominating win on senior night, the Lady Falcons improve to 20-2 after sweeping Unicoi Co HS 3-0. (25-14, 25-12, 25-9). The Falcons had no issues taking care of business on the court and only allowed Unicoi to take a one point lead twice all night. Volunteer overcame those small gaps to win in impressive fashion and end their regular season on a high note. The Junior Varsity team also finished their match with a 2-0 win. (25-14, 25-17).

The atmosphere was filled with emotion and excitement as this team and fans honored their two seniors in Jaycee Cassidy and Veda Barton. Both of those seniors have been cornerstones of this team and we had a chance to speak with them postgame. Jaycee Cassidy (7 kills and 10 digs), had nothing but great things to say about her senior counterpart when asked saying, “Veda is our captain. She takes care of all of us in games and practice.” Also says that she is the vocal leader which is what any good team needs!

Veda Barton (7 kills, 10 digs, 2 assists and 2 aces), was also asked about if she was aware of how good this team would be coming into the season. “I think we all knew that this team would be successful just with the offseason preparation we did in practice and camps we attended. None of the girls are selfish and we always take care of each other. Both of these seniors were interviewed so keep an eye out on our social media platforms and website for the full interviews. The Lady Falcons travel to Grainger County next week in search of a District Tournament Championship.
