Wow.
We started our coverage and building during the fall season and we enjoyed every single second of it. We were not able to make it to soccer coming in late and getting it figured out. Football and Volleyball allowed us to step in and begin a new era at Volunteer Sports Network.
Winter Sports season… that’s where the change started. We took on two teenage volunteers who have gotten to grow and experience broadcasting. We have gotten to build relationships with the children on these teams and their families. We have still been learning wrestling and swim, but their work and dedication has not gone unnoticed. We cannot wait to be able to adapt better and go full swing with them next year.
Basketball… wow. You all let us try everything. Pictures, videos, media day, and whatever other crazy idea we came up with. You allowed us to cover as many games possible. Most importantly, you welcomed us in and allowed us the privilege to get to know you when you didn’t have to.
To the seniors, we are so honored that we were able to watch your final year. I have a lot of words for all of you, but those are being saved for graduation.
The basketball coaches. Big, big, thank you. You took a chance on a group of people who you didn’t know and welcomed us in to covering your teams that you work so hard to protect and love.
The parents.. thank you for letting us support your babies. Thank you for sharing our posts. Thank you for understanding when there is a mess up or we need some extra learning. Thank you for your kind words and your encouragement.
Overall, winter sports season changed a lot. This one will forever be one that we remember. We love you, Falcon Nation. We are not going anywhere anytime soon. (But there are a lot of naps involved in the next few weeks).
Spring Season, you’re next.
